Many people think the most important civic duty is to vote. While that is truly a very important role for an American citizen, we are not finished there. Self-governance requires us to know and understand the Constitution, and to stay informed about federal, state, and local laws as they are being written and voted on by our representatives.

As these people have been chosen to represent us, they also work for us. American citizens have a right and a duty to inform their representatives about what they think, and to place demands on them, so we can keep our republic a government of, by, and for The People.
